This Christmas Open House is an annual event where more than 90 community groups display themed Christmas trees and guests enjoy an entertainment program, homemade cookies and Courthouse Eggnog. This year's performers include Sandra Stocking's Flute Group, OLM Christmas Choir, Sounds of the Valley, Merced Baroque Sinfonia, St. Paul School Choir, and Bear Creek Ukulele Society. The Christmas tree exhibit will run through Dec. 30, 2025.
Set in a mythical “once upon a time” sort of land, Shrek the Musical is the story of a hulking green ogre!
The Raven Society has met to select the best mystery book of the year. A message arrives stating that each member shall die. Mystery maven Agatha Christie takes the message seriously. But who will die before she unravels this dark mystery? A mystery by Craig Sodaro, directed by Annie McGrath.
The gala includes appetizers, a no-host bar, piano music, silent auction, raffle and a perfromance by the Madera High School Choir. Tickets are $50 per person and must be purchased ahead of time by mail (no tickets at the door, limited to 300).
In addition to the gala, the museum will also be open for holiday viewing, Dec. 9-13, and Dec, 16-20, 5:30 - 7:30PM. Tickets for these night time viewings are $2 per person or $5 per family and can be purchased at the front door. Cookies and hot cider will be available. Proceeds will help the Madera County Historical Society continue to preserve local history.

Fashion Fair is partnering with the Deaf and Hard of Hearing Services Center (DHHSC) of Fresno to bring in Mrs. Claus (who is fluent in sign language) to make sure that all deaf and hard of hearing children get the chance to talk to the Big Guy!
Music from classical to contemporary—and, of course, Christmas—will be performed by the New Horizons String Orchestra.
