Come spend the morning paddling down the San Joaquin River. This 5-hour downriver trip takes you from Lost Lake to Owl Hollow, the Trust’s riverfront property near the River Center. You will learn the basics of paddling a sit-on-top kayak, with time to practice on a calm area of the river before heading downstream.

Latination, one of Bakersfield’s most beloved cultural festivals, is back with a two-day celebration of Latinx art, music, food, and community. The event features an art show curated by Don Martin, live music by Mento Buru, and a festive block party on East 18th Street.

In this talk, Christopher will share the results of his research investigating what fungi (including truffles) woodrats forage for in the foothills and how they play an ecologically critical role in the dispersal of fungal spores.

New complexities like changes in behavior due to dementia or other infirmities can be difficult to understand. This presentation will discuss the realities of change, what factors impact sexuality and tips for maintaining intimacy.
