The Big Fresno Fair is seeking individuals who can demonstrate excellent customer service in an entertaining and family-friendly environment at this job fair taking place in the Commerce Building at the Fresno Fairgrounds on August 19.

Medicare information can be confusing and overwhelming. Health Insurance Counseling and Advocacy Program (HICAP) has designed this workshop to educate current and “soon-to-be” Medicare beneficiaries about coverage options, different enrollment periods, and how to avoid penalties. Also discussed are the differences between Original Medicare, Medicare Advantage plans, Part D, and Medigaps. Registered HICAP counselors will be available to answer all your questions.

Guests from the Fresno Economic Opportunities Commission will speak to seniors ages 60 and older on how to use their smartphones, computers and tablets. These one-hour workshops will also provide an opportunity to learn how to identify spam calls, send text messages and make important calls using the cell phone.

These workshops are designed to help participants learn that falls and the fear of falling can be controllable. Participants will learn to set realistic goals for increasing activity, change their environment to reduce fall risk and promote exercise to increase strength and balance.

The 16th Annual “Pint for a Pass” Blood Drive with the Central California Blood Center kicks off Tuesday, August 25 with a special launch event happening at the Fresno Fairgrounds in the Commerce Building.
