This 6-week course of ASL 1 & 2 classes is for all ages who want to learn in order to communicate with the Deaf & Hard of Hearing Community, including family members and friends.

This weekly event promotes literacy and school readiness with songs, stories, and crafts chosen especially for preschool age children.
Every Monday and Tuesday a free dinner and snack for all children ages 2-18 years will be provided.
“Launch Central Valley,” a 10-week small business start-up bootcamp provides instruction and coaching from business experts in marketing, sales, finance and deals with attorneys, accountants and government officials. Sponsored by the Fresno Pacific University Center for Community Transformation. Meetings are online via Zoom with individual in-person coaching available.

The Panorama Invitational has been an annual event for nearly 20 years at Bakersfield College. The exhibition will display the artwork of Kern County high school students. It will include a variety of art, showcasing a range of 2-dimensional, 3-dimensional and multimedia pieces. Art Unleashed Open Mic starts 6PM on the first and third Thursdays of the month. The event will be held at Dagny’s Coffee Company in Downtown Bakersfield on February 2 and February16.

National artists Lisa Turner and Mayuko Ono Gray are featured for February at Arts Visalia. Lisa Turner is a Washington state-based artist who utilizes popular imagery to create visually striking screen prints that examine mass media, material culture, and consumerism. Currently living in Texas, Mayuko Ono Gray artfully blends Western traditional drawing with Japanese calligraphy, the influence of her childhood in Japan, to create beautiful graphite drawings. Both exhibitions run from February 1-24, 2023 with a First Friday Reception on February 3, 5:30-7:30PM.
