Since Allison was able to talk, she has wanted to entertain. As a teenager, she picked up a guitar and started honing her skills at writing lyrics, especially parody songs. Later after moving to LA, she formed her parodies into a stage-ready set. Her first taste of stand-up was at The World Famous Hollywood Improv in December 2008. She has since been invited to perform at festivals including the Hollywood Comedy Festival, the San Luis Obispo Comedy Festival, and the Boca Raton Winter Comedy Festival.

The Young at Art Exhibition is back at Arts Visalia, featuring the artworks of participants in Arts Visalia’s summer children’s classes August 1 - 24. An Opening Reception will be held on Friday, August 2, 5:30 – 7:30PM. Tacos San Marcos will be present and T–shirts for participating artists will be available.

Come by the Kern County Museum on Thursday, August 8 with your families and children and receive a free backpack with school supplies for children in Kindergarten through 12th grade (must be present with an adult, limit of 1 backpack per child, while supplies last). There will be giveaways, back-to-school supplies, and community resources.

Returning for a 4th year the “Fringe of the Woods Festival” will again be held at the Mile High Theater in Lake of the Woods/Frazier Park. Performances are different each evening, providing for the most enterainment.
