Valley Edition: Dec. 16 - Dairies Leaving California; Valley Children's Hospital; Crescent Concert

This week on Valley Edition we a take a look at why some dairies are leaving California for what they say are greener pastures in the Midwest. Also on the program you'll hear the story of a once homeless female veteran who now helps homeless veterans in Fresno.

Later on the program, we'll hear from Valley Children's Hospital CEO Todd Suntrapak on the changes the hospital is rolling out in 2015. 

Ending the program, you'll get a preview of the 2015 third annual "Crescent Concert" with Eva Scow held December 21 at Fresno's Fulton 55 at 7 p.m. The concert is an evening of festive international music featuring Brazilian Pop-Funk from Boca do Rio, Brazilian Jazz from Sarah Cabral and Soul-Funk from The Experience! Tickets are available at Fresno's Tower District Records, or at the Fulton 55 box office.

Joe Moore is the President and General Manager of Valley Public Radio. During his tenure, he's helped lead the station through major programming changes and the COVID-19 pandemic, while maintaining the station's financial health. From 2010-2018 he served as the station's Director of Program Content. In that role, he also served as the host of Valley Edition, and helped launch and grow the station's award-winning local news department. He is a Fresno native and a graduate of California State University, Fresno.
