The Annual Open Studio Tour showcases the work of local artists and artisans in homes, studios, galleries, and businesses across Eastern Madera and Mariposa Counties. The 2026 tour takes place over two weekends, October 2-4 & October 9-11.
The Great Valley Gathering is a free, three-day folklife festival celebrating culture bearers and the rich cultural diversity of California’s Central Valley. Hosted by the Alliance for California Traditional Arts (ACTA) and co-presented with the Smithsonian Folklife Festival, the Great Valley Gathering invites all ages to experience the traditions, stories, music, dance, foodways, craftsmanship and community expressions that make the Central Valley unique.
October gets exciting with three new exhibitions at Arts Visalia. The main gallery showcases the vibrant cultural paintings of Arturo Martinez. Also featured will be tactile ceramic work by Tim Clark and abstract oil pastels by Jamie Meadows. See all three artists and more October 1 – 31, 2026. An Opening Reception will take place Friday, October 2, 5:00 pm – 7:30 pm.

The Junior League of Bakersfield’s 8th Annual Oktoberfest Fundraiser is bringing an evening of German-inspired food, hearty beers, games, prizes, competition and plenty of fun. And, browse the silent auction and bid on incredible items and experiences.

This year’s Bully Walk will be an easy and enjoyable 1-mile stroll through Woodward Park, along a path that is nearly 90% shaded with plenty of water features. There will be lots of doggy dip and water stations along the way, so your pups can stay cool and comfortable while you walk together. Once the walk is done, the fun is just getting started! Head back to the event area and enjoy over 40 vendors, raffles, photo booths, delicious eats from a taco truck, snacks, refreshing drinks, and the always-popular Costume Contest.
