This week on Valley Edition we take a look at the notion of whether Fresno can be poverty free. VE Host Joe Moore was joined by Assistant Professor at UC Davis M. Anne Visser, Zocalo Public Square's Joe Matthews and Sher Moua with Fresno Building Healthy Communities. 

Also on the program we hear from the Fresno Bee's Bill McEwen. KVPR's Diana Aguilera reports on a new pill that's helping UC Davis researchers tackle heat related illnesses among agricultural workers. FM89's Jeffrey Hess explores whether technology is killing California's Public Records Law

Joe Moore is the President and General Manager of Valley Public Radio. During his tenure, he's helped lead the station through major programming changes and the COVID-19 pandemic, while maintaining the station's financial health. From 2010-2018 he served as the station's Director of Program Content. In that role, he also served as the host of Valley Edition, and helped launch and grow the station's award-winning local news department. He is a Fresno native and a graduate of California State University, Fresno.
