The first week in May is Historic Preservation Week in Fresno, with a host of activities that celebrate the city’s architectural heritage.
This year the activities have a theme that connects with the city’s musical history as well, showcasing the places and people who helped make the sounds of the valley over generations. Karana Hattersley-Drayton, Fresno's historic preservation manager, joined Valley Edition this week to talk about this year’s event. The event will include a “Pub Quiz,” a scavenger hunt in the Wilson Island neighborhood, and big events at two of Fresno’s grand movie palaces, the Crest and WarnorsTheatres.
