This week on Valley Edition we discuss drought, almonds and much more. The program begins with a piece by KVPR Reporter Jeffrey Hess on how the implementation of high speed rail in California is affecting businesses and homeowners in Central California.
Also on the program, Valley Edition Host Joe Moore leads a conversation about the connections between drought and the almond industry. Joining Moore are Madera County Farm Bureau Executive Director Anja Raudabaugh, Valley farmer Joe Del Bosque and Adam Scow with the organization Food and Water Watch.
Later in the program KVPR Reporter Jeffrey Hess speaks with Fresno writer Mai Der Vang about child brides and the Hmong community. Vang reflects on a shooting in Fresno in early April resulting in the deathof a woman that had been a child bride.
Ending the program we speak with Fresno County Library Supervisor Lisa Lindsay about a documentary she made called Surviving the Streets of Fresno.
