Valley Edition: August 18 - Prepping For El Niño; Rough Fire; UC Merced Chancellor; Hhmong Story 40

This week on Valley Edition FM89's Ezra David Romero reports on how officials in the Fresno area prepping for possible flooding from a looming El Niño. Meteorologist and Fresno State LecturerSean Boyd explains what's conjuring up what could be an answer to California's drought.  

Also on the program, we hear from UC Merced Chancellor Dorothy Leland about her plans for expansion for the university. We also share a story about how bats could help walnut growers control costs on their farms. 

Ending the program we hear from Lar Yang with the Hmong Story 40 project about an event called "The History Behind The Hmong Refugee Exodus." The event will be held Saturday August 22 from 10:30 AM to 4 PM at the Fresno City College Theater.
