Libraries, Bars, And Lounges Close To Promote Social Distancing

Fresno County Public Library Facebook
All Fresno, Kern, and Tulare County library branches will be closed temporarily to reduce the spread of COVID-19.

Many public and private establishments across the San Joaquin Valley are closing temporarily in an attempt to reduce the spread of COVID-19. This comes after increasing recommendations from federal, state and local officials to maintain social distancing.

Fresno, Tulare and Kern Counties have closed all of their library branches. Fresno’s libraries will be closed until April 14; Kern County libraries will be closed until April 13; and Tulare County libraries will be closed until the end of March. However, patrons can continue to use online library resources.

Kings, Madera, and Merced County Libraries are still open, but have cancelled all library programs until further notice.

Macy’s department stores and Regal Cinemas across the nation have closed as well.

The cities of Clovis and Fresno are enforcing Governor Gavin Newsom’s limitations regarding restaurants. Bars, nightclubs, breweries and lounges are being asked to close, and restaurants are to limit their services to food delivery and takeout.
