Artist Interview: Garrick Ohlsson

Pianist Garrik Ohlsson is one of the world's foremost interpreters of the music of Chopin. The San Francisco-based pianist is a also a familiar name for Central Valley audiences, as he's made numerous performances in the Philip Lorenz Memorial Keyboard Concert Series.

This Sunday he returns to the Fresno State Concert Hall to open the 43rd season of the series, which organizers claim is the 2nd longest continually running keyboard concert series in the nation, trailing Carnegie Hall. He recently spoke with Valley Public Radio about the upcoming concert and his career. 

Joe Moore is the President and General Manager of Valley Public Radio. During his tenure, he's helped lead the station through major programming changes and the COVID-19 pandemic, while maintaining the station's financial health. From 2010-2018 he served as the station's Director of Program Content. In that role, he also served as the host of Valley Edition, and helped launch and grow the station's award-winning local news department. He is a Fresno native and a graduate of California State University, Fresno.
