A new company is preparing to renovate Fresno’s nearly dead Manchester Mall. Omninet is asking the city for a small section of land to increase the appeal of the struggling shopping center.
The company has plans to renovate and refresh the mall which sits at the corner of Blackstone and Shield in central Fresno.
The mall’s management declined to comment on the plan, but a company website is up touting the project, including a video targeted at attracting new tenants.
“Manchester’s new owner Omninet Capitol will transform the center into something entirely unique and exciting for the entire community,”
The company is asking the city for a section of land that is currently a turn lane that, according to documents on its website, will be turned into a small retail store front.
In documents filed with the city, the company is planning a complete renovation of the exterior, reconfigured parking, and new retail space.
The site is also located along the city's upcoming Bus Rapid Transit line.
According to the website, the revamped Manchester Center will feature an outdoor activity area, plus a new entrance and food court.
A link to their website which includes conceptual drawings of proposed renovations is available here.
