Sequoia Symphony To Open Season With 'Indiana Jones'

Tulare County Symphony

The Sequoia Symphony Orchestra opens their 2019-2020 season with a live performance of the film “Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark” at the Visalia Fox Theatre on Friday, October 18, and Saturday, October 19. The orchestra will perform the score live alongside a screening of the film. FM89’s David Aus spoke with music director Bruce Kiesling about composer John Williams, the importance of film music, and how a symphony prepares for this kind of performance.

David Aus is the host of Sunday Night Jazz and Young Artists Spotlight on KVPR, as well as other special programs featuring the valley's local musicians and artists. He is also a social media and marketing specialist for KVPR. Born in Baltimore, Maryland, David Aus has lived in Michigan, Ohio, Texas, Washington, D.C. and San Francisco, before arriving in Fresno in 2002. Prior to joining KVPR, he spent many years as an on-air host at KFSR. When not on the air, David is a busy jazz pianist, composer, arranger and educator.
