Nu’u Yavi, a Mixtec word that means plaza, is a space where immigrant women residents share traditional dishes from the Mixtec and Triqui region of the state of Oaxaca, Mexico. The general public is invited to Nu’u Yavi, to learn about and enjoy dishes with indigenous roots consumed in their hometowns.
Arts Visalia will exhibit the work of Marty Azevedo and Kirk Cruz in May. Azevedo’s work explores ideas of symbolism, archetypes, masculinity, power, narrative, and allegory. Cruz returns to Arts Visalia in May with his artwork depicting his bold process in color theory and light. The exhibition runs from May 2 – June 1, 2024. The Opening Reception will be held on May 3, 5:30 – 7:30PM. A free Artist Talk will take place on May 4, 2PM.
