The non-profit organization Advocates for Indigenous California Language Survival is on a mission to recruit and educate the next generation of native language speakers. As the group’s executive director Carly Tex told Valley Edition host Kathleen Schock, holding on to indigenous languages is key to holding on to the cultures themselves.

Kathleen Schock is the host of Valley Edition. In the show, Kathleen and the Valley Public Radio news team explore issues that matter to the residents of Central California through engaging conversations and in-depth reporting.
