New Report Offers Solutions To Valley's Water Woes

PPIC
Ellen Hanak is director of the PPIC Water Policy Center and a senior fellow at the Public Policy Institute of California.

Despite a rain and snowfall year that is among the wettest in memory, Central California's water supply and quality problems are not going away anytime soon. A new report from the non-profit Public Policy Institute of California looks at those issues and offers a variety of management solutions. It's called  "Water Stress and a Changing San Joaquin Valley." Report co-author and PPIC Water Policy Center Director Ellen Hanak joined us on Valley Edition to talk about how farmers and cities can better manage groundwater, and other solutions to these chronic issues.
