http://fresnograndopera.org/lesmiserables.html

This week on Valley Edition we talk about air quality, drought in California, a Fresno production of Les Miserables and more.

Starting the program, Valley Public Radio Reporter Ezra David Romero takes a look at barbecue restaurants – one of the biggest food trends in the region – and how the Valley Air District hopes to work with them while developing future regulations.

Also in the program, Valley Edition Host Joe Moore speaks with Senate President pro Temp Darrell Steinberg about his plan to use money from the state’s cap-and-trade program to help pay for construction of high speed rail.

FM89 reporter Rebecca Plevin reports on how the Fresno County Board of Supervisor's plan to end safety-net care for the undocumented has thrown into the question who should fund and provide care for this population.

Moore also talks with Fresno Bee Editorial Page Editor Bill McEwen about high speed rail, drought and Governor Jerry Brown’s visit to Fresno.

Ending the program, Moore speaks with Thi Nguyen, the associate director of the Fresno Opera, about his production of Les Miserables. The show will run January 17, 18 and 19.
