Applications are now being accepted for “The Big Tell” film competition, which awards ten $5,000 grants to documentary filmmakers that highlight stories of the Central Valley. The competition, which is now in its sixth year, is presented by the James B. McClatchy Foundation and the Central Valley Community Foundation. To learn more, Valley Edition host Kathleen Schock spoke with a former grant recipient, Jason Duong, as well as Bryan Harley from the Community Media Access Collaborative (CMAC), the nonprofit that runs the contest.

Kathleen Schock is the host of Valley Edition. In the show, Kathleen and the Valley Public Radio news team explore issues that matter to the residents of Central California through engaging conversations and in-depth reporting.
