At the Chandler Airport in Southwest Fresno, the non-profit New Vision Aviation is teaching young people from low-income neighborhoods how to soar, literally, in the high-paying aviation industry. Valley Edition Host Kathleen Schock spoke with one of the students in the Next Generation Aviation Academy, 12-year-old Sammy Taylor, along with the organization’s founder and president, Joseph Oldham.

Kathleen Schock is the host of Valley Edition. In the show, Kathleen and the Valley Public Radio news team explore issues that matter to the residents of Central California through engaging conversations and in-depth reporting.
