"A Day With HIV" Photo Exhibit On Display At Fresno Art Museum
Today marks the kickoff of “A Day With HIV” photo exhibit at the Fresno Art Museum. FM89’s Diana Aguilera visits the display.
The gallery shows 19 posters of people from around the nation that are living with HIV. It’s a snapshot of their lives and it's part of a campaign hoping to reduce the stigma related to HIV and AIDS.
Jena Adams with the Fresno County Department of Public Health helped organize this event.
“The goal is really to show what people with HIV/AIDS look like, and they look like you and me. They’re living, and thriving… they’re moms, they’re dads, they’re uncles. They’re doing everything that someone that’s HIV negative can do.”
The exhibit runs through Sunday and there’s a $5 charge to the general public. The county is also offering rapid HIV testing Friday in their mobile unit in the parking lot from 11 am to 3:30 p.m.
