You’ve likely seen the green California sticker with the words “My Job Depends on Ag” on cars, trucks and tractors around the Valley. Behind that slogan is a Facebook community of farmers and agricultural-enthusiasts. The movement has since inspired a television show. It premiered this week on Valley PBS and is called “American Grown: My Job Depends on Ag.” Executive Producer Jeff Aiello says the project explores where food comes from, and how agriculture is a part of everyone’s lives, not just those of farmers.

Listen to the interview to hear Aiello explain his involvement in the show, how future episodes will explore some of the politics of agriculture, and the diverse communities that take part in the industry.
