This week on Valley Edition we hear report a story from Amy Quinton about how the US Forest Service is preventing its own scientists from talking about a study. Later VE Host Joe Moore interviews the Fresno Bee's John Ellis about national, state and local politics. 

Also on the program, FM89's Ezra David Romero reports on how the fig industry has transitioned with shrinking acreage, decreased demand for dry figs, an increased desire for fresh figs and now drought. We also hear from Bakersfield Californian Reporter Lauren Foreman about Bakersfield College President Sonya Christian's salary and the rumors around it. 

Ending the program KVPR Reporter Jeffrey Hess interviews Jane Chu, Chairman of the National Endowment for the Arts, on a recent trip to Central California.
