This week on Valley Edition we look at the topics of food, drought, farming, policing and beer. First, Lesley McClurg reports on animal welfare conditionsin the state.  Later, KVPR's Jeffrey Hess reports on whether six months after Prop 47 crime has gone up.

Also, on the program VE Host Joe Moore interviews Merced Farmer Cannon Michael about water and drought issues in the state. Later, Valley Public Radio Reporter Diana Aguilera interviews farmworker activist Dolores Huertaabout the Smithsonian Institution honoring here as the first Latina in their "One Life Series."

Ending the program, Moore leads a conversation about beer in Central California.
