“The Big Tell” awards documentary filmmakers with $5,000 grants to tell local stories

CMAC is looking for applications from filmmakers of all skill levels with subjects from the Central Valley

Applications are now being accepted for “The Big Tell” film competition, which awards ten $5,000 grants to documentary filmmakers that highlight stories of the Central Valley. The competition, which is now in its sixth year, is presented by the James B. McClatchy Foundation and the Central Valley Community Foundation. To learn more, Valley Edition host Kathleen Schock spoke with a former grant recipient, Jason Duong, as well as Bryan Harley from the Community Media Access Collaborative (CMAC), the nonprofit that runs the contest.
