CSU Bakersfield launches its first department of ethnic studies

CSU Bakersfield has launched its first department of Ethnic Studies in the university’s 51-year history. The new department will focus on the contributions of Latinos, African Americans, Asian American and Indigenous people. Valley Edition Host Kathleen Schock spoke with Dr. Tracey Salisbury, an assistant professor in the new department, about the significance of this program for students.
