In 2018, e-commerce giant Amazon opened a fulfillment center in Southwest Fresno. It employs thousands of people and reportedly offers better pay and benefits than similar jobs, but an investigation by the Fresno Beefound that its injury rate is double the state average for the warehouse industry.
