Starting the program Valley Public Radio Reporter Rebecca Plevin reports on one Kettleman City woman’s “hate-hate” relationship with the city’s water, which contains unsafe amounts of naturally occurring arsenic.
Also in the program, Valley Edition Host Joe Moore interviews Center for Investigative Reporting reporter Ryan Gabrielson about his work on a beating at the Porterville Development Center that has gone unpunished after years of delay.
Later in the program, Moore speaks with Jared Farmer about his book Trees in Paradise: A California History. The book explores California’s culture through four trees: redwood, eucalyptus, orange, and palm.
