The Walls Go Up As FM89's New Home Takes Shape

Workers this week began the process of erecting the walls of our new building at the Portal Sierra Research and Technology Park at Alluvial and Temperance Avenues in Clovis. Drivers on nearby Freeway 168 can already see the building going up, as Zumwalt Construction crews assemble pre-fabricated wall panels, steel posts and laminated wood beams.

The workers started with the tallest part of the building, the walls on the west side of the structure that will one day house the station's new performance studio. The high ceilings and thick walls will provide optimum acoustics for this multi-purpose space, which will be able to accommodate everything from live performances to pledge drives.

Joe Moore is the President and General Manager of KVPR / Valley Public Radio. He has led the station through major programming changes, the launch of KVPR Classical and the COVID-19 pandemic. Under his leadership the station was named California Non-Profit of the Year by Senator Melissa Hurtado (2019), and won a National Edward R. Murrow Award for investigative reporting (2022).
