Valley Public Radio Earns 6th Consecutive Charity Navigator Four Star Honor

Jul 5, 2019

For the sixth year in a row, the independent nonprofit rating service Charity Navigator has awarded Valley Public Radio its highest honor - four stars. The rating is based on the station's stewardship of donor funds, financial health, ethics and transparency policies.

Michael Thatcher, President and CEO of Charity Navigator wrote the following:

We are proud to announce Valley Public Radio has earned our sixth consecutive 4-star rating. This is our highest possible rating and indicates that your organization adheres to sector best practices and executes its mission in a financially efficient way. Attaining a 4 star rating verifies that Valley Public Radio exceeds industry standards and outperforms most charities in your area of work. Only 9% of the charities we evaluate have received at least 6 consecutive 4-star evaluations, indicating that Valley Public Radio outperforms most other charities in America. This exceptional designation from Charity Navigator sets Valley Public Radio apart from its peers and demonstrates to the public its trustworthiness.
