Valley Edition - October 18, 2019 - Sikh Resource Hotline, Fighting Gun Violence, Street Symphony

On this week's Valley Edition: Two violent incidents shook the Sikh community in Bakersfield this year; now a women’s group is running a resource hotline in English and Punjabi.

And one father in Fresno who lost two children to gun violence has a strategy for fighting it in his own neighborhood. Is it working? We follow him to find out.

Also, Vijay Gupta, a violinist with the Los Angeles Philharmonic gives up his chair to focus on his nonprofit Street Symphony. The organization connects with the homeless on Skid Row through music. Gupta will perform and speak in Fresno next week.

And finally, for the weekend, a conversation with ukulele master Jake Shimabukuro. He's playing at the Tower Theatre in Fresno.
