This week on Valley Edition we are joined by Fresno State Geography Lecturer and Reedley College Professor Sean Boyd for a conversation about the rain the region received last week and what Valley residents should expect weather-wise in the months to come.

Also on the program, VE Host Joe Moore is joined by Fresno Bee Reporter Marc Benjamin for a conversation about the closure of the Chukchansi Gold Resort and Casino, the tribal dispute, arrests and more.

Later, Richard Collins, the Dean of the School of Arts and Humanities with California State University, Bakersfield, joins Moore to talk about a conference focused on the cultural legacy of The Grapes of Wrath.

Ending the program Moore chats with cellist Zuill Bailey who will perform with the Fresno Philharmonic Nov. 7, 8, and 9 at the Paul Shaghoian Hall in Downtown Fresno.

Joe Moore is the President and General Manager of KVPR / Valley Public Radio. He has led the station through major programming changes, the launch of KVPR Classical and the COVID-19 pandemic. Under his leadership the station was named California Non-Profit of the Year by Senator Melissa Hurtado (2019), and won a National Edward R. Murrow Award for investigative reporting (2022).
