Valley Public Radio

This week on Valley Edition FM89’s Ezra David Romero reports on the latest development for the drought-stricken town of East Porterville: they now have showers.  Also on the program Bakersfield Californian’s Lois Henry and UC Irvine’s James Famiglietti discuss groundwater and the future of the state.

Later in the program we hear from famed Chicano writer Gary Soto about his play “In and Out of Shadows.” The story delves into the lives and experiences of undocumented teenagers who live in California.

Ending the program we talk about how to make your Thanksgiving meal local. We speak with Trelio’s Chris Shackelford and School House Restaurant and Tavern’s Ryan Jackson about what they are cooking up for the Holiday at home and in the kitchen.
