Ezra David Romero

Valley Public Radio

This week on Valley Edition KVPR's Ezra David Romero reports on the fusion of mariachi and opera in Visalia.  Also on the show reporter Diana Aguilera reports from Dinuba where Covered California is focusing outreach efforts on the Latino community. But the only problem is that many don't quality for coverage.

Later, VE Host Joe Moore talks with Michal Sigala, an urban planner in Fresno, about a demonstration project in southeast Fresno to revitalize the Ventura and  Kings Canyon corridor in the city. The groups transformed a portion of the street with parklets, popup cafes and more.

Valley author Betsy Lumbye speaks with Moore about her new book "Beyond Luck." The book tells the story of a Selma man who struck gold in Alaska and then oil in Kern County.

Ending the program we speak with Tracy Teran with the Japanese Fall Color Festival at Woodward Park's Shinzen Japanese Garden in Fresno.
