Ready For Rebar and Concrete, As FM89's New Home Takes Shape

Construction is moving forward at a brisk pace at the site of Valley Public Radio's new home at the Research and Technology Park in Clovis at Temperance & Alluvial Avenues. Over the past two weeks crews have been busy installing plumbing and electrical lines beneath the surface and excavating for the footings for our building's foundation.

The various rooms and studios in the new building are beginning to take shape as concrete work is almost ready to begin

For better acoustic isolation between studios, the concrete slabs for each studio space are independent from other parts of the building. At this stage of the construction process that means you can see large trenches around these studios, which gives you a good idea of their overall footprint.

The installation of steel rebar is next, and workers are expected to begin pouring concrete next week.
