The Fresno Philharmonic welcomes its sixth candidate for the vacant position of music director and conductor to the community this week with José-Luis Novo. He'll lead the orchestra in a concert Sunday at the Saroyan Theatre featuring music of Mozart, Dvorak, Ravel and Stravinsky, with guest artist violinist Chee-Yun.
José-Luis Novo was appointed Music Director of the Annapolis Symphony Orchestra in 2005 and was Music Director of the Binghamton Philharmonic from 2003-2016. Prior to these appointments, he served as Assistant Conductor of the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra under the direction of both Jesús López-Cobos and Paavo Järvi, and the Cincinnati Pops Orchestra under the late Erich Kunzel.
