Big Progress As Construction On FM89's Home Hits Final Stretch

The smell of fresh paint and the sound of workers installing glass are filling FM89's new broadcast center these days, as the project is nearing completion. After breaking ground back in May of 2015, the construction process is nearing an end. Workers with Zumwalt Construction estimate that the building will be substantially complete in early March, allowing us to begin our move in April.

In the past seven days, workers have made great progress. Much of the exterior of the building is now complete as the project's stucco work is finished, including the final color coat. Drywall hanging and plastering is now complete, and workers have applied a finish texture to the walls, and are now doing interior paint work. The glass contractor is installing the project's energy efficient windows throughout the building, and the phone company is installing telecommunications hardware. Next will be the installation of the station's broadcast tower, and metal panels that will cover a portion of the facade, giving the building a hi-tech look.
