California farmers and vintners are among the most innovative in the world. This year Valley Public Radio is pleased to celebrate the integration of organic, biodynamic and sustainable agricultural practices into California winemaking. Naturally, we will be inviting wineries which our guests have praised over the years, but consistent with the heritage of California winemaking pioneers, we will also be including many of the wineries whose growing and producing practices are leading the industry in preserving the soil and producing dynamic, full flavored wines. As the tasting draws closer, we will introduce you to some of these California innovators.

- Barry Bennett, 2011 vintner coordinator
