This week on Valley Edition we take two hours to look at the November election. The program begins with KVPR reporter Diana Aguilera’s story on a community displaced by a gas leak in Arvin. Valley Edition Host Joe Moore interviews Fresno Mayor Ashley Swearengin who is running for California State Controller. He also speaks with her opponent Betty Yee. Later Moore speaks with Pete Petersonthe Executive Director of the Davenport Institute for Public Engagement who is running for California’s Secretary of State.
Also on the program Fresno Bee Editorial Page Editor and Columnist Bill McEwen and Fresno State Political Science Professor Tom Holyoke join Moore for a conversation about the propositions on the November ballot.
Later in the program Casey Schreiner, the editor of Modern Hiker, and Moore chat about a woman who has used Instagram to document a trip to national parks across the country. The problem Schreiner says is that the photos she posted were of paintings she created on National Park property.
Ending the program Moore speaks with Julie Herd with the Madera Annual Pomegranate Festival held November 1.
