In honor of the William Saroyan Centennial Festival, we present a rebroadcast of six programs originally produced by FM89 in 2002. Each program features one or two stories written by Saroyan, and read by people who share a respect for Saroyan's work. Each of the programs also contain parts of an extensive interview with Carol Matthau, who was Saroyan's wife.

Valley Public Radio has produced a revealing and compelling short program featuring some of the many letters written by Arshile Gorky to his family. Gorky communicated frequently with his family by way of thought-provoking letters, which often expressed his heartfelt emotions about his homeland and his passionate feelings about art. You will hear some of these letters, read by British writer and performer Nouritza Matossian, on Valley Public Radio’s stand-alone tribute to Arshile Gorky.

Children and adolescents see the world differently than adults. It's not just that adults know more, which in most cases is true, but that they just don't see things in the same way. Kaye Cummings continues a series of short features exploring the development of understanding.
