Heritage Fresno presents a Local History Book Fair on Saturday, September 18 from 9:30am-2:30pm at the San Joaquin River Parkway in Fresno. JazzFresno and the Fresno County Public Libraries host Jazz at the Library on Tuesday September 21 at 7pm at the Central (Downtown) Library, 2420 Mariposa (between Tulare and Fresno streets). The presentation is titled “Journey Through Brazilian Jazz.” Enjoy a historical perspective of Brazilian jazz, from Gilberto Gil to Antonio Carlos Jobim, from samba to bossa nova and points in between, as JazzFresno takes a look at the artists, composers and recordings, including a live performance by Joe Lizama and friends. The Yosemite Flute and Art Festival will be held on September 24 from 11am-5pm, September 25 from 9am-5pm, and September 26 from 9am-3pm at Oakhurst Community Park. Concerts on Friday and Saturday at 7pm. The festival offers world music all day long, numerous workshops, yoga, flute making, art and craft vendors, drum circle, open mic opportunities, and more. Tony Redhouse, a Navajo sound healer, spiritual teacher, motivational speaker, and successful recording artist headlines Friday's performances. Tickets are $5 for the whole weekend.
