The organization is also looking to partnerships and reporters to offer greater variety in content. The organization will focus resources on upgrading technology, in order to provide a more reliable service to more listeners, including transmitters, HD services and more.
Goal 2: Given the volatility of Corporation for Public Broadcasting funding, the organization will grow its assets, both short and long-term for greater stability.
Strategies: Station leadership will continue to monitor expenses and explore avenues for revenue enhancement. The station will also discuss estate planning opportunities with donors and maintain a line of credit with funding institutions.
Capacity: The station needs to be fully staffed, and then train staff in order to grow assets for the organization. The station needs to hire a second marketing representative and continue training the Individuals Gifts Manager to increase donor and business partnerships. The station also plans on training two student interns in all aspects of public radio, including fundraising, content offerings, and marketing.
Goal 3: Fine-tuning of governance and transparency matters as they relate to public broadcasting and non-profit organizations.
Strategies: Together with leadership experts, continue to evaluate policies to maintain compliance with changing regulations. Look for ways to increase Board engagement, with respect to areas of expertise and interest.
Capacity: Review on-going changes as they relate to CPB, IRS, State of California, and the FCC. Update personnel handbook, Board policies, and bylaws as they relate to the organization.
Goal 4: Inspire greater activity with regard to the Capital Campaign.
Strategies: Increase the number of donor conversations with regards to the building of a new facility. Host events focused on exposing listeners to become involved with fundraising for a new facility. Explore parcels of land for the new location.
